Temporary Palaces – Seeds of Empire, Agneskirche Köln 2024
Botanical gardens are places that reproduce and stage an experience of nature and landscape, and convey a natural experience that is based on replicating and simulating tropical dreamworlds. The aim of the exhibition project Temporary Palaces - Seeds of Empire was to raise awareness of postcolonial places in the city and to show how the botanical garden was used as a place for colonial eduacation and research and as a place for appropriation and domination of both plants and indigenous people.
